Bread Knife

A long serrated knife for slicing crusty bread.

A long knife with a serrated edge for slicing bread. The teeth saw through a hard crust without crushing the soft crumb inside, which a straight-edged knife tends to do. A long blade that's wider than your loaf makes clean, even slices much easier.

Henry's notes from the bench

  • Let the knife do the work with long, light strokes. Pressing down squashes the loaf.
  • Wait until the bread is cool before you slice. A good knife can't fix a crumb that's still setting.
